  9. Now Utilities Users To Get Free Monthly Updates

  11. Updates to feature new Plug Ins, component enhancements and bug fixes

Portland, Ore., March 19, 1996 - Now Software today announced free monthly updates for Now Utilities 6.0.  Each monthly update will feature a mix of new Plug Ins, minor enhancements to existing components and bug fixes.  The monthly updates will be available from Now’s website at www.nowsoft.com.  The first update will be available on the first of May.

  15. “The Internet has given us new opportunities to deliver high-quality, customer-driven enhancements to Now Utilities on a monthly basis and we’re going to take advantage of that,” said Henry Carstens, General Manager of the Now Utilities Division of Now Software.

  19. •    File Exchange - a Now Tabs and Now Shortcuts Plug In that lets Now Utilities users send and receive files and folders over a network with a simple mouse click.

  21. •    IP Address - a Now Tabs Plug In that displays a user’s IP address and helps IS administrators identify address conflicts.

  23. •    Recent Files, Folders, Applications - a much improved Now Tabs Plug In plug in that lets you launch applications and open files and folders up to 10 levels deep using the "Now" button.

  25. •    Now Up-to-Date Launcher - three Apple Scripts you can run from Now Tabs that launch Now Up-to-Date, Now Contact and Now QuickPad.

  27. •    OpenDoc Parts Launcher - a Now Tabs Plug In that is an easy way to launch OpenDoc editors.

  29. •    Revised Plug Ins SDK - an updated SDK for third parties to write Now Utilities Plug Ins.

  31. •    Enhanced Now Tabs and Now Shortcuts to make better use of Now Menus.

  37. Now Utilities 6.0 has an estimated street price of $89.95. Upgrades from previous versions are $29.95.  The monthly updates are available at no charge from Now’s website at www.nowsoft.com.  The first update is due May first.
